The regulator 1920 watch delights its owners with its outstanding appearance, fine materials, impressive craftsmanship and functional perfection – a masterpiece from the Erwin Sattler manufactory.
The timepiece is also dedicated to the history of clockmaking and examples of its characteristic features and achievements.
The outstanding features of good craftsmanship are extremely carefully crafted angles. Connoisseurs measure quality by the recessed, protruding or rounded corner, for example. Even the best computer-controlled production centers cannot keep up with the art of craftsmanship. When working, the skeletonizer must always ensure that the strength of the bridges and brackets is maintained. This requires precise knowledge of the structure of mechanical movements and the flow of force in the gears.
CRAFTSMANSHIP IN PERFECTION
Although the ES06 caliber of the regulateur 1920 runs at only 1/1,000,000,000 hp, the immutable laws of mechanics demand strict observance. Watch enthusiasts with a keen eye will immediately notice the arrangement of the winding mechanism and handsetting crown at the “6” on the anniversary wristwatches. This is partly due to the aforementioned Lépine design of the movement, but the unusual positioning also serves to protect the precious cuffs and ergonomics as well as to protect the winding stem from bending. Experienced owners of hand-wound watches take it off their wrist to tension the mainspring, as this makes turning it a real pleasure – at regulateur 1920 also thanks to the solid gold crown in the shape of the nuts of the Erwin Sattler precision pendulum clocks.
The important historical movement offers around 36 hours of autonomy when the mainspring is fully wound. The quality features of this piece of jewelry also include a Rücker mechanism with a swan-neck fine adjustment developed, manufactured and finished in-house, as well as a fine Breguet balance spring with a highly curved end curve and a triple-screwed minute wheel chaton. The exterior of this ticking masterpiece is completed by a hand-stitched alligator leather strap and a solid gold push-button folding clasp.
