Opened in 1850 by the Italian instrument maker Onorato Comitti in Clerkenwell, London, the manufactory has been characterized by perfection and innovation since its founding days. Very quickly, Comitti established a reputation for the unsurpassed quality of the measuring instruments and mercury and aneroid barometers created here.

In the late Victorian era, the maker of the finest brass instruments then advanced to become one of the most esteemed and sought-after clockmakers in England and was awarded the Diploma of Honor in 1888 for his outstanding achievements.

More than 150 years later, the clock manufacturer Comitti is still family-owned, run by the fifth generation and always true to Onorato Comitti’s founding principles, maintaining its international reputation for luxury timepieces in the English clockmaking tradition.
