The table clock “The Navigator” (RH/MAE) is a classic presentation of the Navigator grasshopper timepiece from Comitti London, combining the rhodium-plated movement and the mahogany base.
New version for 2022 – The stunning Comitti ‘Navigator’ clock is closely modeled on the first reliable marine chronometer developed by the world-famous clockmaker John Harrison (1693-1776). Harrison’s famous ‘grasshopper’ escapement enabled seafarers to calculate longitude for the first time and thus determine their position on the map more precisely.
The table clock “The Navigator” (RH/MAE) from Comitti London is handcrafted from solid brass and plated with rhodium. The silver-plated dial features Roman and Arabic numerals and is complemented by elegant Breguet hands. There is even a beautiful seconds display with hands above the dial. The mechanism stands on a high-gloss mahogany base with an integrated key drawer and is protected by a gleaming crystal glass shade. Each Navigator comes with a piece of the book “Longitude” by Dava Sobel, which retells the amazing story of John Harrison’s struggle to keep his amazing clock.
