The table clock “The Navigator” (RH/CARBON) from Comitti London is a unique, modern version of the Navigator that combines a black, rhodium-plated movement with a glossy lacquered carbon fiber base.
The stunning Comitti ‘The Navigator’ clock is closely based on the first reliable marine chronometer developed by the world-famous clockmaker John Harrison (1693-1776). Harrison’s famous “grasshopper” escapement enabled seafarers to calculate longitude for the first time and thus determine their position on the map more precisely.
The table clock “The Navigator” (RH/CARBON) from Comitti London is handcrafted from solid brass and coated with rhodium. The silver-plated dial features Roman and Arabic numerals and is complemented by elegant Breguet hands. There is even a pretty seconds display with hands above the dial. The movement stands on a glossy black lacquered base with an integrated key drawer and is protected by a shiny crystal glass cover. Each Navigator clock comes with a piece of the book “Longitude” by Dava Sobel, which tells the amazing story of John Harrison’s struggle to create his amazing clocks.
