The table clock from owes its eye-catching design at first glance to the frameless Lunaris Sanguis from Erwin Sattler owes its eye-catching design to the frameless case made of crystals and the polished, milled brass parts that artfully frame the body, as well as the hand-painted blood moon. The special feature is the supporting function of the clock’s exterior. The movement and case form a symbiosis that gives the movement as a whole a unique visual unity.
The meaning behind the name Lunaris Sanguis
The name of the table clock Lunaris Sanguis is derived from “Luna”, the Latin word for moon and “Sanguis”, the Latin word for blood. The latter is also reflected in the handmade clock. An anodized aluminium dial with gold-plated steel hands and red second hand as well as the red dial XII offers a cut-out for the hand-painted moon phase display in its lower half. The timepiece is not only associated with the moon by name, but also shows its various luminous forms in a fascinating and decorative way.
