EVERYTHING COMBINED – TIME, DATE, DATE STRIKE AND A THREE-DIMENSIONAL MOON PHASE DISPLAY IN THE WALL CLOCK OPUS PMD 100 BY ERWIN SATTLER
The Opus case, the most modern case variant of the clock manufacturer Erwin Sattler, combined with the caliber 1577 developed in-house by Sattler, culminates in the wall clock Opus PMD 100.
The mechanism of the movement with its gold-plated gear wheels and the built-in power-maintaining mechanism, which transmits power to the gear train even during the winding process, can be viewed at any time thanks to the U-shaped anti-reflective glass door.
The crank and strike-setting weight are safely stored in a compartment on the underside of the case. The modern case is completed by polished, filigree metal inlays.
Both visually and technically, the month runner delights with its two-part dial and skeletonized hands. The current moon phase is displayed via a three-dimensional moon sphere hand-painted in the manufactory, which only needs to be corrected by one day after 120 years.
The current date can be read off in a small sub-dial below the “12 o’clock” position, rounding off the design of the exceptionally elegant dial.
Invisible but audible, the passenger chime sounds every hour on the hour on a gong, adding to the presence of the noble Regulator. Of course, the chime can be stopped at any time using the chime stop weight.
