In addition to two precision ball bearings, seven jewels made of synthetic ruby ensure that the movement runs smoothly. A classic Graham escapement is a matter of course for the caliber 1410, as is the use of high-quality materials. The beautifully shaped weight with pulley reliably fulfills its important task at just one thousand grams.

The time display of the hours and minutes with polished steel hands is complemented in this noble timepiece by a pleasant sound, the so-called passenger chime. Every hour on the hour, a small hammer makes a gong sound briefly. A high-quality wooden rod pendulum with a solid brass lens divides the continuously passing time into well-defined sections – in exactly 5184 half-oscillations per hour. Fine adjustment is made possible by a handy knurled nut underneath the polished and nickel-plated pendulum bob.

The two-part, black anodized dial on this Erwin Sattler model deserves special attention. The beautiful face of the wall clock Opus PM 70 II is made of aluminium and its surface is electrically oxidized. In addition to the Arabic hour numerals, 12 small polished hour markers gleam. The phases of the moon can be read on a hand-painted disc through the semi-circular opening above the number “6”. This once again underlines the high standards on which this timepiece is based. Exactly 29.5 days pass from new moon to new moon. This means that a small correction to this indication is due after three years.
