Description
THE HAND-PAINTED BLOOD MOON ON THE DIAL OF THE OPUS PM 70 III IS IMPRESSIVE
The blood moon is a fascinating natural spectacle that can be explained by the simple physics of light scattering. Many mystical powers are associated with it, and yet its coloration is only a result of the interaction of sunlight with the Earth’s atmosphere. Instead of mischief or magical powers, the blood moon is a reminder of how beautiful and complex the natural phenomena in our universe can be.
The two-part, black anodized dial of the 70 III therefore deserves special attention. Opus PM 70 III. The 12 o’clock dial is red, analogous to the blood moon. The phases of the moon can be read on a hand-painted disk through the opening at “6”. Every hour on the hour, a pleasantly gentle chime sounds, the so-called passenger chime.
Owners can tell which piece of the limited edition of 99 pieces they are by the imprint on the dial.
