Weekly runner with weight drive
In addition to a concrete idea for the subsequent function, aesthetics are always at the forefront of our movement developments. This is also the case with the NT 11 GG table clock from Matthias Naeschke with a weekly running time. Designed in the classic golden ratio, the gold-plated movement with four large wheels is skeletonized in the typical Naeschke style. It rests on four Tuscan columns, each composed of six individual parts. Behind the movement, the compensation pendulum swings at half-second intervals. A weight hangs from each side of the movement on a stainless steel cable just 0.5 mm thick. The escapement of this clock is our self-developed escapement with circular ruby pallets. The points at which the pallets engage with the teeth of the escapement wheel are outside the diameter of the dial on this clock – which is clearly visible from the front.
The interested observer can thus enjoy the fascinating interplay of tooth and ruby unhindered. The large chapter ring of the NT 11 GG table clock from Matthias Naeschke is matt silver-plated and features classic Roman numerals and a fine minute track. The dark blued steel hands in a stylized lily shape are a typical feature of many of our clocks and round off the elegant appearance of the dial. The mechanism is protected from dust, but not from prying eyes, by an all-round glazed glass lintel with a front door.
LIGHT-COLORED WOOD AND ELABORATELY POLISHED SURFACES
The light-colored case base is made of olive burl and cherry wood with gold-plated brass inlays. Its elaborately polished lacquer contrasts with the gold-plated surfaces of the clock. Four adjustable feet at the corners serve to precisely align the clock on its base. With its compact dimensions of W 30 x D 22 x H 45 cm, this timepiece is a beautiful and functional accessory for stylishly furnished rooms and also finds its place on smaller pieces of furniture or in niches. On request, the NT 11 can be produced in a rhodium-plated version with a black wooden base.
