Description

Maxima Secunda

THE MAGNIFICENT MASTERPIECE FROM THE ERWIN SATTLER MANUFACTORY – THE GRANDFATHER CLOCK MAXIMA SECUNDA

Precision to the second – made possible by the finest clockmaking tradition with mechanical perfection. With the new grandfather clock Maxima Secunda, the clock manufacturer Erwin Sattler is expanding its range of precision pendulum clocks “upwards”. This completely new design of an XL precision pendulum clock was preceded by the idea of doubling the size of the manufactory’s previous flagship, the Classica Secunda 1995.

Equipped with all the details that also characterize the smaller siblings from the manufactory’s precision clock range, the grandfather clock Maxima Secunda with its 1.5-second pendulum is a truly “grand” precision pendulum clock. For example, a temperature-compensated invar pendulum with air pressure compensation was developed. All wheels are of course partially toothed and gold-plated. The Graham escapement with the 20-tooth anchor wheel in conjunction with the adjustable anchor agate pallets prevents the weight from running out prematurely. The pendulum bob is designed as a classic double cylinder.

The result is truly impressive: with the grandfather clock Maxima Secunda, the Gräfelfingen-based clockmaker has succeeded in creating an extraordinary monthly runner.
